The Interprofessional Education Welcome Event (IPE WE) is hosted annually for students from 11 health professions programs at UConn early in their clinical training. This event, held virtually, provides an opportunity for interaction among various health profession students in large and small groups. Aims for this program include exploring interprofessional collaboration for health care improvement, introducing roles and responsibilities of team members, and fostering interprofessional communication and problem solving.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this interprofessional experience, students will be able to:
- Examine the potential impact of interprofessional collaboration on the Healthcare Improvement.
- Distinguish between the unique roles, skills, and contributions that each profession brings to the care team
- Initiate skill development in interprofessional communication with students from other professions
